Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-07-30

Welcome to Couples Confluence (“Couples Confluence”, “we”, “us”). Couples Confluence is a web application that helps couples plan and track shared home contributions, bills, and finances. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”).

1. Who we are

Couples Confluence is operated by JRI (Minnesota, USA)(“the Company”). You can reach us at justin.ranek23@gmail.com.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use Couples Confluence. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for all activity that happens under your account.

3. Couples and shared data

Couples Confluence is designed for two paired partners to share a home workspace. When you pair with a partner, information you record — contributions, bills, career and finance data, notes — becomes visible to your partner inside your shared workspace. Do not add data you are not comfortable sharing with them.

4. Subscription and billing

Access to Couples Confluence requires an active subscription. Plans are billed monthly ($6.49/month) or annually ($39.99/year) through our payment processor, Stripe. One active subscription unlocks the app for both partners in a paired workspace.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the Billing Portal linked in your Settings. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not offer pro-rated refunds for partial periods except where required by law.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use Couples Confluence for unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent activity;
  • attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or overload the service;
  • upload malicious code or violate anyone's privacy or rights;
  • share your account or subscription with anyone outside your paired partner.

6. Content and ownership

You own the content you create in Couples Confluence. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the service for you and your partner. We own the Couples Confluence software, branding, and design.

7. Termination

You may stop using Couples Confluence at any time and delete your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. After termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimers

Couples Confluence is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. It is a personal planning tool — not financial, legal, or tax advice. Decisions you make based on data in Couples Confluence are your own.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Couples Confluence and the Company will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in-app or by email before they take effect. Continued use of Couples Confluence after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
